SYLLABUS FOR IELTS (ACADEMIC REGULAR BATCH)
DURATION 40 HOURS
IELTS stands for International English Language Testing System and it is an international standardized test to know the proficiency of non-native English language speaker. IELTS is one of the major English-language tests along with TOEFL, TOEIC, PTE and many more. There are two variants for the test: Academic and General Training.
In this course student will be allowed to choose any variant and the course will be completed in 40 hours. IELTS has four modules namely, Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. Hence 10 hours will be allotted for each module as every module is equally important.
Student will be able to attain a demo lecture before he/she wants to register for the full course. After finishing the course a student will be familiarized with:
- Structure of the exam;
- Answer all kinds of question in all the module
- Procedure to register for the exam
- Psychological aspect of each module
- Vocabulary required for the test and
- Essential grammar for the test

DETAILED IELTS COURSE:
HOUR 1: INTRODUCTION
INTRODUCTION TO IELTS AND EACH OTHER Students will be given introduction to what IELTS. Moreover, each student will introduce themselves.
HOUR 2: SPEAKING
INTRODUCTION TO SPEAKING Students will know the following: 1. IELTS speaking structure; 2. how speaking module will be tested; 3. how will students be grades; 4. why we fail to speak like native speakers.
HOUR 3: READING
INTRODUCTION TO READING Students will know the following: 1. IELTS reading structure; 2. why we don’t read quick; 3. types of questions you might be asked; 4. grading in reading;
HOUR 4: LISTENING
INTRODUCTION TO LISTENING Students will know the following: 1. IELTS listening structure; 2. why we don’t understand every word while listening English language; 3. grading in listening; 4. types of question asked in the test.
HOUR 5: WRITING
INRODUCTION TO WRITING Students will know the following: 1. IELTS writing structure; 2. how is IELTS writing different than normal writing; 3. types of reports asked in the test; 4. types of essays asked in the test; 5. how will you be graded.
HOUR 6: READING
COMPLETE THE SENTENCE One types of question you might get in reading where you have to complete a sentence with certain number of words. Techniques regarding that will be discussed along with a practice paragraph.
HOUR 7: WRITING
TASK I – LINE GRAPH In writing there are two tasks and first task has certain kind of question are asked. One of them is to describe a line graph. Students will know how to describe how to use certain vocabulary in writing a report on a line graph.
HOUR 8: LISTENING
FORM COMPLETION This is one of the types of questions that you might find in your listening section. You are asked to fill a form based on a conversation between two people.
HOUR 9: DISCUSSION
DISCUSSING DOUBTS AND PRACTICING SPEAKING Students can come up with any doubt or problem they are facing while solving any kind of question. (Of course they can ask in any regular class but this day is explicitly set for that task) There will be speaking practice through games and activities.
HOUR 10: TEST
IETLS FULL LENGTH TEST Students will be given a test with same time requirement and types asked in real IETLS test.
HOUR 11: SPEAKING
INTRODUCING YOURSELF Introducing yourself among your friends and family is much different than you have to do in IELTS. You will be taught the way you should introduce in a way so that you can score well in first part of speaking.
HOUR 12: READING
MATCHING HEADING In reading module there will be type of question: matching heading, in which you have to match the paragraphs from given headings in
the options.
HOUR 13: LISTENING
DISTRACTORS IN LISTENING While listening to any audio, it is possible you might get distracted due to many reasons such as: accent, pronunciation, similar sounding words, speaking correcting themselves in later stages. Students will get an extensive list of all possible distracting words and techniques.
HOUR 14: WRITING
TASK I – BAR GRAPH Bar Graphs are given to write a report about in first task of writing and hence student must get familiar with words and structure connecting to that.
HOUR 15: READING
MULTIPLE CHOICE QUESTIONS You will be given a question and number of options to choose from after reading a paragraph. Due to time constraint in reading section it becomes very important to know how to get such questions on time.
HOUR 16: WRITING
TASK I – PIE CHART The vocabulary you have to use to describe a pie chart differs from other graphs and hence it’s important to get familiar about it. It is one of the kinds of questions asked in task one of writing.
HOUR 17: LISTENING
MULTIPLE CHOICE QUESTIONS It is difficult to listen to someone at the same time reading a question and 3 option and hence it is important to practice and get proper technique to solve such problems in listening.
HOUR 18: WRITING
TASK II – DIRECT QUESTION This is one of the type of 250 words essays you have to write in task 2 of writing module of IETLS. A direct question is asked in this type of essay related to current or everyday affairs.
HOUR 19: DISCUSSION
DISCUSSING DOUBTS AND PRACTICING SPEAKING Students can come up with any doubt or problem they are facing while solving any kind of question. (Of course they can ask in any regular class but this day is explicitly set for that task) There will be speaking practice through games and activities.
HOUR 20: TEST
IETLS FULL LENGTH TEST Students will be given a test with same time requirement and types asked in real IETLS test.
HOUR 21: SPEAKING
TASK II – CUE CARD Every student going for IELTS speaking will be given a cue card from which he/she has to speak for 1 to 2 minutes after preparing for 2-3 minutes. Hence it is necessary to understand how to answer such question with example cue cards.
HOUR 22: READING
TRUE, FALSE AND NOT GIVEN (YES, NO AND NOT GIVEN) Students will be to choose between true, false and not given or yes, no and not given after comparing the question statement and the given paragraph. At times it gets confusing because of NOT GIVEN option and hence specific techniques will be discussed.
HOUR 23: LISTENING
SENTENCE COMPLETION You will be given a sentence and a blank in the beginning, middle or end of the sentence and you have to fill in the blank after listening to the audio.
HOUR 24: WRITING
TASK II – ADVANTAGE AND DISADVANTAGE ESSAY In the task 2 of writing, one of the essay type is advantage and disadvantage of a particular topic.
HOUR 25: READING
MATCHING FEATURE Very similar to matching heading above discussed but in this kind of questions of reading module a statement has to be matched with the content of the paragraph, rather than the title of the
paragraph.
HOUR 26: WRITING
TASK II – DISUCSSION ESSAY One of the type of essay in task 2 of writing module where you are support to discuss an idea given as a statement in the test.
HOUR 27: GRAMMAR
GRAMMAR (TENSE) Tenses from simple present to future perfect will be discussed as you should be familiar with basic grammar before going to test.
HOUR 28: WRITING
TASK II – OPINION ESSAY Your opinion is being asked in a form of essay of 250 words in task 2 of writing module in IELTS. There will be a statement provided in the test and your opinion, whether you agree or disagree with the statement will be asked to be written.
HOUR 29: DISCUSSION
DISCUSSING DOUBTS AND PRACTICING SPEAKING Students can come up with any doubt or problem they are facing while solving any kind of question. (Of course they can ask in any regular class but this day is explicitly set for that task) There will be speaking practice through games and activities.

IETLS FULL LENGTH TEST Students will be given a test with same time requirement and types asked in real IETLS test.
HOUR 31: SPEAKING
TASK III – FOLLOW UP QUESTIONS Questions related to the cue card section (TASK II) of IETLS speaking module will be asked in this task. Students will not get any time to take notes and hence they have to be spontaneous.
HOUR 32: READING
MATCHING INFORMATION You will be asked to match certain feature or statement from the paragraph. Very similar to above given matching feature task.
HOUR 33: LISTENING MAP LABELING You be given a map and based on the audio, you have to fill some blanks in the map given in the listening module of IELTS.
HOUR 34: WRITING
TASK II – SOLUTION ESSAYS You will be given a problem and have to write an essay of 250 words describing the solution for the problem.
HOUR 35: WRITING
TASK I – DIAGRAMS It is possible that you will be given a diagram with a process and you have to explain the diagram in a form of 150 words essay.
HOUR 36: GRAMMAR
GRAMMAR (TEST) Tenses remaining from last session will be discussed along with other grammar concepts.
